HISTORY OF RYC

The Rockport Yacht Club was founded in 1969 as the “Rockport Sailing Club”.  In 1993 as the club’s scope of activities broaden and a decision was made to change our name to the Rockport Yacht Club.  We are a Texas chartered non-profit corporation.  Our By-Laws define our organization and its structure. 

The current Clubhouse was purchased in 1984 and has gone through numerous changes.  The last project was completed in mid 2003, and included expansion and remodeling that providing us with the wonderful facility we have today. 

Members of: U.S. Sailing Association (U.S.S.A),  Texas Sailing Association (T.S.A.),  Yachting Club of America (Y.C.A),  Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce

WEEKEND Get-Togethers - The clubhouse bar is open every Friday evening  for Happy Hour beginning at 5:00 PM.  Often there is entertainment provided by a member(s) or special themes for the evening.  Open Saturday evenings for special events or requests.

Sun Fish Activities - Sunfish races during the summer. TUESDAY, at 6:00 pm.  The races are held at the north end of the City Beach Park (near the saltwater pool) between Key Allegro and the beach park.

Holiday Boat Parades - Sponsored boat parades before Christmas and on July 4th have become annual traditions.

JULY 4th Parade

Monthly Raft Ups  Starts MARCH 2008- 3rd Thursday of the month at 1730
Raftups will be in Little Bay.  
If your the first boat, pick a good spot. Anchor and they will come.

Nautical Flea Market - Annually RYC sponsors this flea market during the first weekend of May.  Fishing, Sailing, Power Boating, Windsurfing, SCUBA, New & Used Parts, Tools, Motors, Rods, Reels, Sails, Nautical Art
